Had someone told Ken M. Wilson and Scott "Scooter" Murdock back in 1989 when they
met at the University of Missouri-Kansas City that they'd create a company
together ten years later, the duo most likely would have enjoyed a good laugh.
Not exactly the extroverted types, Scott and Ken worked quietly together in the
background at four companies all the while formulating one of the strongest,
sharpest and most knowledgeable web development teams in the industry. Utilizing
the talents of top-notch graphic designer Stephen Willis, the pair concepted and
created The 80s Server -- a site dedicated to all things from the 1980s -- which
garnered them a nod from such traditional media biggies as the Wall Street
Journal, the Discovery Channel, and People Magazine. The team also accumulated
dozens of online awards including InfiNet's coveted "Cool Site of the Day" and
Glenn Davis' "Project Cool" awards. Not bad for a couple of guys just having
fun.
Since their "glory days," the two have dreamed of unleashing
their creative talents together once again on a grand scale. And,
although they did have one break-out with the "South Park Post Office" --
concepted, designed and deployed in less than 72 hours -- the two decided that
the best way to do this was to stop waiting for the chance to create while at
someone else's company and to form their own. Thus, Syphon Interactive was
born.
