Amaryl

Aventis Pharmaceuticals - Amaryl

Project:
Cost Model Analysis Software

Development team:
Sharon Turner, Scott Murdock

Project Description:
A departure from Syphon's usual online work, this project involved creating a standalone desktop software application based on a pre-existing prototype, packaging it into an installer, and making it available on CDROM for distribution. Syphon was contracted by Sullivan Higdon & Sink to build cost model analysis software for Aventis Pharmaceuticals, for sales representatives to use when giving presentations about the diabetes drug Amaryl.

Designed to be compatible with Windows 98, ME, and 2000, this application marked the first time Syphon departed from the internet world to create an entirely standalone application. The software we developed was a robust database-driven application that performed a variety of complex cost analyses, complete with graphs, that considered a wide range of configurable factors.

Though the specific type of project was new to Syphon, we were aided by the fact that each of the people involved had a significant amount of past experience creating online projects for pharmaceutical companies and so were familiar with the terminology, procedures, and requirements involved in developing materials for this particular industry.

Incidently this project was a complete success and we look forward to our next challenge.
